{Weekending}

This weekend ...

(red velvet, white chocolate strawberry, pistachio cardamom, espresso, and a buffalo chicken savory wedge)

There was coffee and knitting with Mom's (my Mom is working on socks, Steve's Mom is finishing a sweater for her youngest).

Taking Mom to a certain yarn shop so she could feel everything.

Buttons! The fish are for a project, the pigs are because they're so cute.

Yarn, delicious yarn!
-- Pattern is for the Laramie shawl. I have to pick yarn out for this still.
-- Butterfly (pinkish), sock weight merino/bamboo/nylon blend (http://www.pagewoodfarm.com/)
-- Celeste (blue), silk/merino blend (www.malabrigoyarn.com) -- no project in mind.
-- brown (www.lotusyarns.com) YAK YARN! It's so soft.. so wonderful. No idea what this will be used for, but I could not resist.
-- white lace weight yarn (www.fiberspates.com) -- project in mind.

Chalk drawing (Steve is such a good spirit!).

Birthday tiaras (Thanks Mom!).

Birthday gals.

Cheesecakes of many flavors.

  1. Look at all those ends to weave in! Oye! Those pig buttons are too cute. I would need them as well. Such a pile of yarn goodness. The shawl is gorgeous. I wonder if I could muscle through such a large project with such small needles. And Happy Birthday to you both!

    1. Oh I know! Karen has been working on this sweater since before Christmas. I really need to get a picture of it right side. It's amazing.

I fell in love with that shawl pattern when I was checking out. It would definitely have to be a long term project with something on bigger needles being worked off and on.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. We both had an excellent day!

    2. Thank you Tracey! Mom always comes for our birthday. Steve's birthday is today so it's nice to have her here for ours and his. :)

The cheesecake was absolutely fabulous. It was a recipe Mom really wanted to try and we were game. I would love to have a regular size of it.

Mom is in love with my new yarn shop. We had such a great time there!

    4. Oh fantastic! Mom says if the recipe you found calls for green food coloring she didn't bother putting any in ours. Good luck! I think you will really enjoy it.

      Mom says Hello!

I am *hoping* to come south this fall.
